🚨 Why I Ditched Veggies & Fruits (And Don’t Miss Them!)

I haven’t eaten any veggies or fruits in quite some time—and no, I’m not missing out. The reason? Oxalates. These natural plant toxins can wreak havoc on a healing body, and I’m not about to slow down my progress by loading up on something that could harm me.

Many people believe that vegetables are essential for health, but what if I told you that for some of us, they could be doing more harm than good? Oxalates are in almost all plant-based foods—vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, and seeds. Under a microscope, they resemble tiny sharp crystals that can build up in your body, causing inflammation, gut distress, joint pain, kidney stones, and even autoimmune issues. And here’s a little fun fact (or nightmare fuel): oxalates are also used in cleaning products to remove rust and stains! Imagine eating those same compounds every time you have spinach or almonds. No wonder so many people struggle with unexplained health issues.

High-Oxalate Foods You Might Be Eating Daily:

❌ Spinach (one of the worst offenders!)
❌ Black pepper (yep, even your seasonings matter)
❌ Almonds & almond flour
❌ Chia seeds
❌ Chocolate & cocoa (sorry, but it’s true)
❌ Green tea & black tea

I used to love some of these foods when I first started my low-carb journey. Green tea was a daily ritual, and almonds were my go-to crunchy snack. But once I learned how oxalates can contribute to inflammation, thyroid dysfunction, kidney issues, and even accelerated aging, my desire for them disappeared. Why would I put something in my body that slows down my healing?

For those of us focusing on deep healing, longevity, and vibrant health, avoiding oxalates is a game-changer. Some people have even experienced kidney failure from excessive almond consumption or severe joint pain from years of eating high-oxalate foods. The good news? There are better, safer, and more nourishing alternatives!

What I Eat Instead (And Love! ❤️)

🍲 Bone Broth – My favorite tea replacement! It’s warm, comforting, packed with nutrients, and best of all—zero toxins.
🥓 Pork Rinds (Chicharrón) – Who needs almonds when you can have a crispy, satisfying crunch without the oxalate overload?

It’s all about mindset and priorities. When you are truly focused on healing, it’s easy to let go of things that don’t serve your body. I no longer see food as just something to eat—I see it as fuel and medicine for my body. And when I choose foods that nourish rather than harm, I feel better, think clearer, and know I’m actively supporting my health.

Who needs oxalates when you’ve got bone broth and crispy pork rinds? 🥰 #Healing #OxalateFree #KetoLife #FoodAsMedicine
